When you're gone

Posted by y. 源

I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie
is made up on your side

When you walk away
I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
All the words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

I've never felt this way before
Everything that I do
Reminds me of you
And the clothes you left
they lie on my floor
And they smell just like you
I love the things that you do

When you walk away
I count the steps that you take

Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
And when you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

We were made for each other
Out here forever
I know we were
Yeah Yeah

All I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I do I give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe, I need to feel you here with me
Yeah

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear will always get me through the day
And make it OK
I miss you

Of enemies, pork and movies

Posted by y. 源

I have made a few enemies in the school, namely the principal and the school warden. Haha. Awesome right?! Well, the story is long but to keep it short and simple, it's suffice to say that the those two enemies of mine are at fault and the school warden plans to make me and my batch mates' life miserable. He hasn't yet found out about my name as I was the one who makes his life miserable in the first place. Hahahaha. Even if he managed to know who am I, is it gonna make any difference? He can't do anything to me if I do nothing wrong. By the way, it's impossible for him to find faults in me. Hiak Hiak Hiak. =P

Do you know the feeling of not being able to eat pork for two months? You won't be able to understand my feelings if you are a Muslim. The bak kut teh two days ago was damn delicious! The meal costs us 55bux and shared by 6 of us. Had two bowls of rice as well. The amount I ate was enough to make me loosen my belt. Totally delicious!!!! =D

After the dinner, we went to watch a movie called I am Legend. It had been two months too since i last watched movie with my friends. 5 stars as full marks. Rating: 2 stars for the movie. Reason? The plot is very similar to resident evil movie. The human is the protagonist and the monsters are the antagonist. 2 stars are for the director able to create excellent suspension throughout the end and the lead actor, Will Smith's acting is good. For those who haven't watched resident evil before, this movie will probably suit you well. Another thing to add is that it was horrible to watch movie with kids screaming around in cinema and the parents not going to do anything about it and someone's cell phone ringing at the other end.

Yesterday went out again with the same bunch of friends to the town. We went to The Loaf (the bakery cum bistro jointly owned by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad), around the North West of Lgk. But the bakery shop was closed at that time cuz we went there too early and it would only open after 10am. We proceeded to Kuah Town to have our breakfast instead at a chinese food court. I ordered a plate of Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin (loosely translated as Salty Fish Fried Rice), cost me 4bux. The food quality? Well, i dare to say it was much worse than the one i ate in jb. The amount of rice is small, and guess what. The prawn is as small as 20cents coin!! And take note of the singular word of "prawn". Rating: 0 out of 5 stars.

After breakfast, we went to watch another movie, called National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. We expected many people to watch it though as the it was its premiere showing yesterday, but only around 20 people watched it. Although I haven't watch the first movie of it, I think it's very entertaining and worth the money spent. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. One star not given is because the screen projector (yes, you read it right, they still use screen projector, old school style i suppose) fell off halfway through the show. Goodness. Luckily the staff managed to put the film back to its original position and we didn't have to watch it from the beginning!

We went for lunch at a chinese chicken rice shop after the movie. Ordered a plate of chicken rice and 'char siew' rice and also one barley ice . Cost me 9.50 bux! That means nearly 4++ a plate! Damn.

Anyway, it was quite fun to spend a day outside after many days of studying for tests. However, this is not the end. Many more tests are still waiting for me. Can I score more than 90 % for all the subjects in my exam next year?

Nothing is impossible if we set our minds to achieve it.

Dominant Introverted Sensing
ISTJ & ISFJ What is it like?

Dependable, reliable and trustworthy, they like to belong to solid organisations that are reasonable in their ambitions and loyal to their employees. They feel useful when their roles and responsibilities are clearly established and they can monitor their activities and productivity in tangible ways. They tend to be rather modest, traditional and conventional, to like sensible clothing, to be thrifty, careful and wise with both money and possessions.

Once they accept a project, they will see it to the end. They manage their time well and are realistic about how much time and resources will be needed.

They tend to like to stay in one neighbourhood, often choosing to live close to where they were themselves raised. They are often involved with volunteer organisations and have a developed sense of citizenship and accountability. When they purchase something, it is after careful consideration; rarely will they buy something without having a known need or use for it. They may keep possessions for a lifetime and treasure those that were given to them.

They tend to have a good memory for specific facts that are necessary in their day-to-day life at work and at home. They accumulate facts and details to orient themselves, relying on repeated experiences that have been proven trustworthy. A fact once experienced may be the product of circumstance and happenstance; it is not in and of itself reliable. When an introverted sensing type hears an idea, they rummage through reams of archived facts to find an experience that provides information for the relevance and realism of an idea. When an introverted sensing type utters, "It's never been done!" they are saying that no information about the relevance or usefulness of the idea is available to them. They tend to shy away from surprises and what is perceived as unnecessary change.

Some extra reading about the nature of work of a pilot.

Pilots are highly trained professionals who either fly airplanes or helicopters to carry out a wide variety of tasks. Most are airline pilots, copilots, and flight engineers who transport passengers and cargo, but 1 out of 5 pilots is a commercial pilot involved in tasks such as dusting crops, spreading seed for reforestation, testing aircraft, flying passengers and cargo to areas not served by regular airlines, directing firefighting efforts, tracking criminals, monitoring traffic, and rescuing and evacuating injured persons.

Except on small aircraft, two pilots usually make up the cockpit crew. Generally, the most experienced pilot, the captain, is in command and supervises all other crew members. The pilot and the copilot, often called the first officer, share flying and other duties, such as communicating with air traffic controllers and monitoring the instruments. Some large aircraft have a third pilot, the flight engineer, who assists the other pilots by monitoring and operating many of the instruments and systems, making minor in-flight repairs, and watching for other aircraft. The flight engineer also assists the pilots with the company, air traffic control, and cabin crew communications. New technology can perform many flight tasks, however, and virtually all new aircraft now fly with only two pilots, who rely more heavily on computerized controls.

Before departure, pilots plan their flights carefully. They thoroughly check their aircraft to make sure that the engines, controls, instruments, and other systems are functioning properly. They also make sure that baggage or cargo has been loaded correctly. They confer with flight dispatchers and aviation weather forecasters to find out about weather conditions en route and at their destination. Based on this information, they choose a route, altitude, and speed that will provide the safest, most economical, and smoothest flight. When flying under instrument flight rules—procedures governing the operation of the aircraft when there is poor visibility—the pilot in command, or the company dispatcher, normally files an instrument flight plan with air traffic control so that the flight can be coordinated with other air traffic.

Takeoff and landing are the most difficult parts of the flight, and require close coordination between the pilot and first officer. For example, as the plane accelerates for takeoff, the pilot concentrates on the runway while the first officer scans the instrument panel. To calculate the speed they must attain to become airborne, pilots consider the altitude of the airport, outside temperature, weight of the plane, and speed and direction of the wind. The moment the plane reaches takeoff speed, the first officer informs the pilot, who then pulls back on the controls to raise the nose of the plane. Pilots and first officers usually alternate flying each leg from takeoff to landing.

Unless the weather is bad, the flight itself is relatively routine. Airplane pilots, with the assistance of autopilot and the flight management computer, steer the plane along their planned route and are monitored by the air traffic control stations they pass along the way. They regularly scan the instrument panel to check their fuel supply; the condition of their engines; and the air-conditioning, hydraulic, and other systems. Pilots may request a change in altitude or route if circumstances dictate. For example, if the ride is rougher than expected, pilots may ask air traffic control if pilots flying at other altitudes have reported better conditions; if so, they may request an altitude change. This procedure also may be used to find a stronger tailwind or a weaker headwind to save fuel and increase speed. In contrast, because helicopters are used for short trips at relatively low altitude, helicopter pilots must be constantly on the lookout for trees, bridges, power lines, transmission towers, and other dangerous obstacles. Regardless of the type of aircraft, all pilots must monitor warning devices designed to help detect sudden shifts in wind conditions that can cause crashes.

Pilots must rely completely on their instruments when visibility is poor. On the basis of altimeter readings, they know how high above ground they are and whether they can fly safely over mountains and other obstacles. Special navigation radios give pilots precise information that, with the help of special maps, tells them their exact position. Other very sophisticated equipment provides directions to a point just above the end of a runway and enables pilots to land completely without an outside visual reference. Once on the ground, pilots must complete records on their flight and the aircraft maintenance status for their company and the FAA.

The number of nonflying duties that pilots have depends on the employment setting. Airline pilots have the services of large support staffs and, consequently, perform few nonflying duties. However, because of the large numbers of passengers, airline pilots may be called upon to coordinate handling of disgruntled or disruptive passengers. Pilots employed by other organizations, such as charter operators or businesses, have many other duties. They may load the aircraft, handle all passenger luggage to ensure a balanced load, and supervise refueling; other nonflying responsibilities include keeping records, scheduling flights, arranging for major maintenance, and performing minor aircraft maintenance and repairs.

Some pilots are flight instructors. They teach their students in ground-school classes, in simulators, and in dual-controlled planes and helicopters. A few specially trained pilots are examiners or check pilots. They periodically fly with other pilots or pilot’s license applicants to make sure that they are proficient.

LIMA 07 concluded

Posted by y. 源

LIMA exhibition has finally ended! The feeling of watching the air show at the exhibition was really different. Fighter jets flew past faster than the speed of sound! Imagine you are looking a jet flew past silently and you start wondering why the hell the jet doesn't produce any roaring sound. After two seconds, a bloody loud and ground-shaking sound suddenly just BOOM out of nowhere and you won't even have enough time react to close your ears! Almost all of the people present at that time were shocked, and amazed too by the fighter jet capability. The aerobatics display by the Red Arrows was in the afternoon. And of course their performance is one of the best that I have watched so far. They have excellent coordination, able to change from one formation to another formation effortlessly, absolutely stunning. If you wanna watch the Red Arrows, search for it through www.youtube.com.

By the way, BG and his uni friends came to lgk to watch the air show too. Met up with him two days ago for dinner. =D

What a day!

I climbed up to the water reservoir this morning to watch the LIMA guys rehearsing for their performance. The view from above was totally breathtaking, though the wind was kinda strong, up to 12 knots.

Many jets performed their stunts today, and one of them is the Sukhoi jet which flew vertically upwards for few hundred feets before the pilot sengaja let his jet stalled, and the jet slowly fell down due to gravity pull. In order to make a recovery from stalling, the pilot moved the control column forward, gave full throttle, used rudder (not ailerons) to counter the opposite spin and finally pulled out from dive by moving the control column rearward gently. Normal aircrafts would probably need few seconds (maybe few minutes or maybe never!) to recover from stalling, but this particular jet was able to do it in less than 2 seconds. Damn cun man.

During the first part of the rehearsal, i saw many parachuters, at least more than 30 of them, were practising their parachuting skills around the lgk airspace. A few of them drifted far away from the others and were dropping towards the sea! Possibly due to the strong winds, i guess. My friend told me that one of them fell into the sea. I didn't pay much attention to him though, cuz I thought the parachuter should not have much problem to survive. After about 20 minutes, I noticed that a helicopter was hovering on top of the sea for quite a long time, for around 30 minutes. I thought they were rehearsing for some search and rescue actions.

BUT I WAS WRONG.........

If you have watched tonight's news, you would have noticed the latest news regarding the parachuters from LIMA. 3 people dead, of age 20, 24, and 25 years old. One of them died on the spot (drowned) because she (yes, you read it right, a female parachuter) was blown to the sea near Pantai Cenang. And the other two, although rescued, however, they died in the hospital. More details will be provided by local newspapers tomorrow. My condolences to the families of the victims involved. But anyway, LIMA organizers will still continue with the parachuting rehearsal despite the meteorological department warned that tomorrow's wind will be stronger, between 30-40 km/h. Will they take precautionary steps to avoid the incident again? I can only hope that nothing bad will happen tomorrow.

Fuhyo..in crewroom now online and the sounds of jets flew past the sky above us is definitely blaring..heard from seniors that they are training for full rehearsal today from morning until evening..my friends and i planned to go out this morning for jogging and also watch those jets training, but sadly, we can't do that for now because some VIP are coming together with a filming group to our school..so we have to postponed our jogging to later in the evening after 5pm..looks like our school will make a video clip for LIMA exhibition to attract more students..and some of the batches are involved in the filming..me and my batchmates are not involved of course..still the most junior batch here..Nothing much to do anyway other than preparing for next week's first progress test of DCAT phase..BG said that he and his uni friends will come for LIMA airshow on the 8th..i wonder how they plan for their accomodation when all the hotels and motels around are all fully-booked!!..

Six more jets zoom-ed past again..Looking forward to see them perform on that day!
