A UNIVERSITI Sains Islam Malaysia lecturer who passed only four out of 157 of her law students claims she was forced to resign so that the university could protect its reputation, Kosmo! reported.

Nor (not her real name) said the reason she left was because she could not stand the pressure from the university management on her to give “sympathy marks.”

“How am I to give extra marks if the marks they got is what they should be getting?” she said, adding that her downfall started when she received a show-cause letter on why so many students had failed.

She was then criticised by her superiors, who also wanted her to add marks based on attendance so as to reduce the number of failures.

“I stood my ground. How could I give them marks for that when it is their responsibility to show up for classes?” she added.

The university declined to comment.

I dare say this happens to all the local universities.

We need more lecturers like Nor to help save our education system.

Fast.

Think again.

To those aspiring pilots who are thinking to work with this company, think again. Especially if you are more than 25yrs of age.

Just for your information, the seniors who graduated from here JAN 2008 until now still haven't started working!

They finished their ground school and sim training (with the company) very long ago and now still waiting for endorsement (which is going to take another 8months!).

And these seniors are the first batch of B737 in 2008. More than 10 batches are queuing after them up until today.

*faint*

Yeah, the ground school and sim training are getting faster now. But to wait for the endorsement can take a very long time (I dunno why). Plus there won't be allowance during the waiting period!

Now how the hell am I going to survive in KL?

If you are asking me when I gonna start working...hmmm..year 2011 perhaps?

I am going for simulator now. Bye~

Wtf!

Wtf..Navigation 12 (solo) was canceled this evening due to strong winds and bad visibility.

And tomorrow I am scheduled for Night Flying.

Yeah, you read it right. It's Night Flying!!

In order to get the Night Flying rating, I only need to clock 7 hours of flying (at night of course).

That's pretty short, isn't it?

From what I heard from seniors, Night Flying only consists of circuits (dual with instructors, solos and lastly P1 U/S).

Flying is as per day flying. No changes.

The differences are:
- Light signals to ground crew.
- Emergencies during radio failure & total electrical failure (on ground and in the air).

Anyway, my batch mate just came back telling me that all Night Flying sorties tonight have been canceled. Reason: strong winds, again.

Damn.

Update..

Not Saturday night. Yeah, they changed again.

It's tomorrow night we are going back.

Sh*t...

Last minute!

Posted by y. 源

Last minute decision, as usual, from the school telling us to go back to the island this Saturday night. We gonna report back to flying wing the coming Monday.

Anyway, about whether I can get leave for this year's CNY is still a big question mark. Although the company has no problem in giving us extra leave, but the final say is still up to the Aerofoil Head.

I applied for a week leave. If I get just 5days or less, I will only go back to my hometown to celebrate with my grandmother and family.

If more than that, I will make extra trip down south to meet up with you guys.

Hopefully I can get the email from the company this evening.

Airfares are getting more expensive! Help!!

I went hunting at town with a bunch of my batchmates. We thought there would at least have more prey compared to LGK. Much to our disappointment, there is NONE after 6 hours of searching.

I still remember vividly the days when me and a bunch of F6 friends went to Redang Island for holidays. We walked around the town before heading back to jb.

Many things have changed since then. More shop houses, residential areas and shopping centers! There is this temple called 天后宮 Tian Hou Gong (sorry, I don't know its direct translation) which has not changed at all.

The same temple which I went to pray for blessings and luck for my future. It was a 中上籖 (it means something like a 'high average note' ). I am not sure the direct translation for the word 籖.

But seriously, many of the predictions came true! Fell sick many times and I got this job after waited for so many months! It may sound absurd to you if you don't believe in this kinda stuffs.

Yesterday I prayed for good health and I got this 中下籖 (low average note). Obviously, the result was not that good.

Apparently I will, AGAIN, face not just health but also financial problems in the near future. Worse than what I faced in the past one year. Best part is, I will not be able to avoid them.

I have had enough of falling sick!! No more going to hospital!! No more operation!!

There is solution written though.

"Be patient and stay strong and treasures await in the end."

Anyway, yesterday the school sent another aircraft for us! Muahhahhahha..That means now we have 4 aircrafts to fly!

And also means more hours to clock in a single day! :)

But..like what I said in the chatbox, monsoon is here already. You don't need me to tell you what's gonna happen next.

********

Why the school suddenly so kind to us to provide us another aircraft? We heard that a senior batch (flying Single Engine) has been grounded until they pay another fuel surcharge of 50K! So there are extra aircrafts for us, at the moment.

2 of the ex-senior batches are suing the school while two more are planning to do the same soon. All are private batches.

The school is very smart. It's mentioned in the contract that its content are not to be read by 3rd party.

Which means that if you let your lawyer to read the contract, the school has the right to sue you back! I wonder how are the seniors gonna win the case.

This is why I mention time and again that any of you who is going to sign any kind of contract, PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY!

I bet you saw the evening news yesterday that AK eliminates fuel surcharge for all her flights! Good news for all budget travelers like me! =)

How did AK manage to cut the fuel surcharge? I am not sure about that, but I am pretty sure Mr Tony and his crews are doing a great job to put more pressure on their rivals (especially MAS).

PS: Please don't ask me why AK can cut fuel surcharge while the school cannot. I am as blur as you.

Well..

We are given 3 houses in a golf course resort for a total of 17 of us to stay here in KT and the one I am staying with another 5 batchmates is called Seroja.

3 rooms, fully air-conditioned. 2 bathrooms, one in room while the other is beside the kitchen.

Microwave, fridge, cooking utensils, dining table, chairs, beds, blankets, all complete.

But what's weird is that we are not given room keys. We only have the main door key.

We started off cleaning our own room (2 people per room), and then proceed to hall, kitchen and lastly toilets.

I was cleaning the kitchen with 3 other guys when I heard a sudden loud bump from my room. The door was closed!

Tried to open it. Bloody hell. It won't budge.

Damn. Locked from inside. Why? I think I have to ask the wind for the answer.

We used a handphone card to open the damned door. No use.

Wanted to kick the door. Hmmm, after thinking twice, better not. First day arrived with broken door already is no good.

Next house got some construction workers. Asked for their help. One of them came with a hammer and a wood.

He put the wood on top of the door knob. A hammer on his right hand.

Taking his aim *tap tap*

And then smashed hard on the wood. The door knob became loose. Door still standing strong.

Let's just skip the cursing session.

Finally, with a screwdriver and the same handphone card, we opened the door.

As for the food, the school hired an aunty to cook and bring the food to hangar for us. The food is of course much better than what we had in LGk. :P

We have to be in hangar from 7.15am to around 5pm. So our breakfast and lunch in hangar. The aunty sends dinner to our house around 7pm.

Anyway, the golf course here is not good. I mean, it doesn't worth the money to play here.

More updates next time! Gotta sleep for tomorrow's sortie!

Boy, 10, run over by tram

Posted by y. 源

What was supposed to be a happy outing for a family of 10 on the day after Deepavali turned into tragedy when a 10-year-old boy was run over by a tram at Danga Bay.

R. Karnaraj, who was riding the tram to tour Danga Bay together with his family, was believed to have lost his grip and fell off.

He was subsequently run over by one of the two coaches.

The tram driver, when alerted of the incident, immediately stopped the slow-moving tram, and pulled the boy out from the undercarriage.

With the help of other Danga Bay workers, the boy was rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital. Karnaraj, however, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The tram service is popular with visitors to Danga Bay.

More than 1,000 people use the service daily.

This is the first fatal accident involving the service since its introduction in 2002.

It is learnt that the tram was near the Rumah Limas area when the incident occurred about 4.30pm.

Star Tram Sdn Bhd, the operator of the tram service, extended its condolences to the family of Karnaraj, adding that a full investigation would be carried out to ascertain the cause of the accident.

A police report has been lodged.

The news about the light aircraft crash in KT has resurfaced in local newspaper few days ago.

I had a laugh after reading the news. "The source" is so cute that he does not really know what is happening in the local aviation industry.

In simple, he is stupid. Haha.

I am not gonna talk about those points as the case is also under investigation of the police. A criminal case, as they put it.

Why do you love me?

Another new batch has come. I was told that it's another mix batch between 5 privates and 16 MAS cadets.

Do you know how much is the fees now?

362K.

That's twice the amount of my contract ONE year ago. Amazing, right?

**A question for you:

What is your first impression towards a female cadet who wears men's brief/boxers?

Keep the answer to yourself. Thank you.**

Finally

Finally, the day has come!!!!!!!

I have finished my ground school final examination!!!!! Muahhahhahhaha. Hopefully I should be able to pass all subjects!! :)

Ok..that's the good part.

Now the ugly part.

We were scheduled to have de-brief sessions with all the ground instructors this morning. De-brief is actually our job to give feedback to instructors about the questions that came out in exam.

The first 3 sessions went very swiftly and smoothly. But not the last. And the instructor, is the fella who gave me ZERO in my previous progress test.

This moronic instructor actually asked us to produce the complete 100% exactly SAME PAPER with answers ABCD altogether, no more no less!!

@*$#$#@$*& damn!

We managed to produce the 80% of what we could remember, but to demand for such 100%........IT IS JUST TOO MUCH!

I wish I could re-produce the whole recording and post it here. You should listen to how he screamed and shouted at us!! As he left the classroom, he slammed the wooden door so hard as if it owed him a million bucks!!

This is not yet the end. He complained to the principal and Chief Ground Instructor, saying that we gave ZERO feedback to him!!! What the hell???

And of course, Mr Principal and CGI summoned us for that particular matter. Luckily, we were given chance to defend ourselves and both of them understand the real condition. Whether they are going to take action on the sucker or not, it's not our business. We are not under ground school anymore!!

Here comes the fun part.

Only me and another batchmate from Malacca staying here. Reason not going back: Home too far and break too short. The other 15 people all went back this evening. I am already in this crewroom, surfing net for more than 10 hours.

Not that I got nothing to do but I am trying to find myself SOMETHING to do.

If you remember what I said last time, the school computers did not have MSN, YM, flash player, java, chinese software, etc. We cadets could download the applications but could not get the admin passwords to install those stuffs. We had all those before the main CPU was infected with some kinda "Blue Screen of Death" virus.

Frustrated by these things, my friend (a computer expert) and I (a computer idiot) decided to take matters into our own hands.

Damn! Hacking was fun!! :)

Oh, did I say hacking just now? Just forget what I said 3 seconds ago.. :P

Anyway, the only problem left is how to use the chinese software. I installed it already but it's not functioning as it should be! If anyone of you has any good suggestions on where to download usable (and free) software to view chinese words, please feel free to post them in the chatting section.

Lastly, the best part.

After the senior batch completes their CPL hours at Kuala Terengganu, our batch is confirmed on the next list to go too!! The date is around end of October, but it may changed depending to the progress.

How's the weather at night down south recently? Raining cats and dogs very often? It's gonna be even more challenging with rain and reduced visibility in at night, I think.

The verdict is out!

I have to convert to Islam if I wanna go back for holidays. Still need me to explain further?

So, I shall report back to flying wing on the 29th September.

Send my regards to everyone down south there! :)

And wish me luck for my final exam on Thursday! =)
