LIMA exhibition has finally ended! The feeling of watching the air show at the exhibition was really different. Fighter jets flew past faster than the speed of sound! Imagine you are looking a jet flew past silently and you start wondering why the hell the jet doesn't produce any roaring sound. After two seconds, a bloody loud and ground-shaking sound suddenly just BOOM out of nowhere and you won't even have enough time react to close your ears! Almost all of the people present at that time were shocked, and amazed too by the fighter jet capability.The aerobatics display by the Red Arrows was in the afternoon. And of course their performance is one of the best that I have watched so far. They have excellent coordination, able to change from one formation to another formation effortlessly, absolutely stunning. If you wanna watch the Red Arrows, search for it through www.youtube.com.


By the way, BG and his uni friends came to lgk to watch the air show too. Met up with him two days ago for dinner. =D

I climbed up to the water reservoir this morning to watch the LIMA guys rehearsing for their performance. The view from above was totally breathtaking, though the wind was kinda strong, up to 12 knots.


Many jets performed their stunts today, and one of them is the Sukhoi jet which flew vertically upwards for few hundred feets before the pilot sengaja let his jet stalled, and the jet slowly fell down due to gravity pull. In order to make a recovery from stalling, the pilot moved the control column forward, gave full throttle, used rudder (not ailerons) to counter the opposite spin and finally pulled out from dive by moving the control column rearward gently. Normal aircrafts would probably need few seconds (maybe few minutes or maybe never!) to recover from stalling, but this particular jet was able to do it in less than 2 seconds. Damn cun man.


During the first part of the rehearsal, i saw many parachuters, at least more than 30 of them, were practising their parachuting skills around the lgk airspace. A few of them drifted far away from the others and were dropping towards the sea! Possibly due to the strong winds, i guess. My friend told me that one of them fell into the sea. I didn't pay much attention to him though, cuz I thought the parachuter should not have much problem to survive. After about 20 minutes, I noticed that a helicopter was hovering on top of the sea for quite a long time, for around 30 minutes. I thought they were rehearsing for some search and rescue actions.


BUT I WAS WRONG.........


If you have watched tonight's news, you would have noticed the latest news regarding the parachuters from LIMA. 3 people dead, of age 20, 24, and 25 years old. One of them died on the spot (drowned) because she (yes, you read it right, a female parachuter) was blown to the sea near Pantai Cenang. And the other two, although rescued, however, they died in the hospital. More details will be provided by local newspapers tomorrow. My condolences to the families of the victims involved. But anyway, LIMA organizers will still continue with the parachuting rehearsal despite the meteorological department warned that tomorrow's wind will be stronger, between 30-40 km/h. Will they take precautionary steps to avoid the incident again? I can only hope that nothing bad will happen tomorrow.

Fuhyo..in crewroom now online and the sounds of jets flew past the sky above us is definitely blaring..heard from seniors that they are training for full rehearsal today from morning until evening..my friends and i planned to go out this morning for jogging and also watch those jets training, but sadly, we can't do that for now because some VIP are coming together with a filming group to our school..so we have to postponed our jogging to later in the evening after 5pm..looks like our school will make a video clip for LIMA exhibition to attract more students..and some of the batches are involved in the filming..me and my batchmates are not involved of course..still the most junior batch here..Nothing much to do anyway other than preparing for next week's first progress test of DCAT phase..BG said that he and his uni friends will come for LIMA airshow on the 8th..i wonder how they plan for their accomodation when all the hotels and motels around are all fully-booked!!..

Six more jets zoom-ed past again..Looking forward to see them perform on that day!

Finally i managed to jog to the airport runway non-stop yesterday! Ah..after a week of jogging, my stamina has also increased considerably..but still not enough..plus i think i am getting fatter again..three meals a day, just like any normal person..but it's the portion per meal that makes me fat! The dishes are full of carbohydrates too..not many fruits to eat anyway, sometimes got bananas and sometimes got mandarin oranges..but i can only blame myself for taking so much rice every meal..

Anyway, LIMA is coming to lgk next week! For those who don't know what is LIMA, LIMA stands for Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition. And of course, one of the events will be held at the airport, which is 20mins walk from my school. I don't know what to expect from the event but i guess airshow by the Red Arrows is something that won't be missed out every year! Just now when class was still going on halfway, i saw the Red Arrows training and performing their stunts (in the airspace right beside my school) for next week's events. Damn cun..
