Kilo Lima

Posted by y. 源

Back from Kilo Lima few hours back.

I haven't moved in and yet I already feel wanna vomit and can hardly breathe.

Nauseatic because of the traffic jams. Millions of cars, bikes, lorries.
Suffocated because everything and everywhere talk about $$$ and only $$$.

Living in Juliet Bravo for nearly 22 years, and I am still complaning about all these sh*t! ;P
Yeah, I just love to complain. Haha. Who cares? I still have to get used to the life here someday.

Anyway, met up with other batchmates as planned on Monday and off we went to view the apartments we got thru agents.

Pelangi Damansara, Pelangi Utama, Puncak Nusa Kelana, Suria, D'aman Ria and Crimson.
At least 7 apartments we viewed in less than 5hours in a day.

Luckily we had a senior who was free to fetch us around. It wasn't easy to navigate around Kilo Lima and we got lost few times! The stupid signboards are not helping much either. A GPS cellphone would be great.

We finally found one with 950 per month partially-furnished. Pretty small. Around 860 sq feet. Standard 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Gym, badminton courts and reading rooms are provided. Facing swimming pool.
So it's not gonna be that dusty and hot.

Plus...

There are gonna be lotsa babes swimming during weekends!

Ah lovely~~

Now where's my binoculars??

I am thinking to make a new blog with different ID soon. And then perhaps make it private.

But it's gonna be troublesome to those without gmail account. They need to apply a 30-day permission to view the blog.

Changing the ID of this blog is not gonna do much help. The link is the same.

Although I have been very very careful with the words I use here, but I still can't risk having to delete this blog someday.

All the memories of my 201 flying hours are stored here. Good and bad. Everything!

I will make a decision by end of this month.

Flying High!

Just some photos that were taken during the Twin Engine flying phase. Found them through friends' site.

All aircraft were pushed out to the parking bay by 0730hours.

Saw the "Remove Before Flight"? It simply reminds the pilots to remove the pitot cover (to prevent insects, dusts or whatever from blocking the pitot tube) during preflight check.

Just in case you dunno, THERE ARE actually idiots who didn't remove them and went flying!
Either they PURPOSELY didn't do the preflight check, OR
they FORGOT to do so, OR
they were blind.

Of course, they were grounded for at least a week.

The lovely sky....I miss flying...ALOT!

Rent

Posted by y. 源

Found 2 locations which my friends and I think are worth considering to rent.

http://www.iproperty.com.my/property/listing.asp?pid=318342

http://www.iproperty.com.my/property/listing.asp?pid=313135

Although both are situated closely to the airport, but I am still quite worried about the traffic flow.

**Your comments are most welcome :)**

Jenson Butang again.....

Jenson Button won again. Already 5 races. I am still in the state of disbelief.

And so YH has to close his blog afterall. He didn't state the reasons but my best bet is because one of his post is related to the company's confidential info.

I had been expecting this to happen sooner or later when he mentioned about THE incident few days back.

Of course, I am just guessing.

So...

So there is internet connection here. Both home and workplace.

I'm working as a cashier now. Still learning to use the msdos program to order stocks and buy stuffs.
Quite a few codes and procedures to remember. Shouldn't be a problem in a few days time.
But if customers ask me about the product info, I know sh*t. ;p

By the way, a friend of mine is getting married end of next month. Damn. The first one among us. I mean in my circle of friends.
:) Hopefully can attend her wedding before moving to SBZ.

Slow and Crazy

Posted by y. 源

I still remember last time when I went Redang Island with a bunch of friends for snorkeling, I was the slowest one. It was like no matter how hard I kicked, I moved only inches. Or worse, stationary. Many at times my friends had to drag me. =P

Not anymore.

Completed the 10hours of swimming lesson 3hours back! Quite an achievement for me cuz finally I can swim. I mean REALLY swim.

Which means tomorrow after lunch I am going to Malacca.

I was rearranging my stuffs when I saw this:

That's mine folks. Haha. Yeah, the first thing that came into my mind: WTF!

How patriotic was I.

Army? Police?? Navy??? In Bolehland?????!! I must had been out of my mind! Haha.

Anyway, I don't think I will go online for few weeks after this. Hardly any internet connection there.

If you miss me too much, just gimme a call/sms :P

Away!

Read The Star today? If no, read this!

***************

I am leaving for Malacca next week. Next Tuesday I think, if I can complete my swimming lessons in time.

Already clocked 6hours in since yesterday. Morning 2hours, evening 2hours. Damn tired...man, I am getting darker...............

Gonna work there until late June (expect 25th June) before coming back here to pack my stuffs and move to SBZ.

Random~~

I was thinking not to update anything during this 2-month break since there is nothing much to blog about.

For a week plus, I have been....

- watching taiwanese&japanese dramas
- playing basketball, badminton and tried rock climbing.
- playing DotA, CS, Bejeweled 2, and Zuma.
- reading Dan Brown's books.
- sleeping for 9 hours a day average.
- playing guitar.

But still I am bored and need to find something else to do.

I went with Chelwarnce together with his college friends for a study tour at Permai Hospital this morning.

You know how much I like to do charity~~ to contribute for the society and to the people in need~~ wahahahahahahaha!!!

Ok, I see none of you believe me :P

42 Psych students (including me, The BIG Poser) arrived at the main hall around 9.15am. Then we were ushered into a small hall for some talks regarding the Child Psychiatry (not sure the correct terminology to use!), and facilities/treatments provided at the clinic.

As expected, the slide shows were alien to me. Haha. I thought I was in another planet!

But it made me understand certain things like, for cases such as autism and ADHD involving children (those below 18-year-old as I was told), parents play a pivotal to help their kids to grow normally, or at least help them to be able to cope better with the society.

Some parents fail to identify the symptoms and tend to brush it off as a 'normal' case, which obviously lead to worsening of the illness.

Poor parenting skills is not helping much either. Troubled marriage, divorces, abuses, etc...Do I need to say more??

Psych aside, back to the tour. We later went to the adult dorm, recreation areas and the child department to get a clearer picture. I'd say the condition of the buildings there were kinda...ermm...traditional? Apparently they are not receiving much funding from the government nor the NGOs.

Anyway, Mission 'Wash Eyes' Complete. ;p

Grad dilemma

Posted by y. 源

Thousands of graduates are flooding a market affected by the global economic crisis. Perhaps it’s time people take the plunge to stay afloat.

Graduates are being produced by the hundreds of thousands every year and the sad news is that only slightly over half could find a job within months.

So if you think finding a job is going to be a walk in the park because you have a degree, maybe you need a friendly slap of reality. A degree is no longer the passport to gainful employment.

In 2008, our local universities churned out 175,806 graduates and this year, the number may increase.

In a study made by Higher Education Ministry on a sample of these graduates last year, only 55.1% landed themselves with a job within half a year.

The Journey

Posted by y. 源

The beginning....

Arrival..

View of the airport from aircraft parking bay..

A bus provided to fetch us to the school from the airport.

Didn't even have time to unpack our luggage. We were called straight for orientation.

We stayed at ground floor.

And this is the common room (one in each block at ground floor). It was clean when we first came though.

Then we started our ground school..PPL, one month and then to DCAT phase, 2 months..hours and hours of studying..
but it's nothing compared to STPM..

But we can't be studying all day long. So it's either we go for sports or play DotA.
We bought our own router weeks later and it made things easier when we played against other batches.

We organized our own group trips (picnics, beach swimming, movies, etc) whenever we were free. One of our frequent spot....

My girlfriend.

And we also celebrated birthdays for all of our batchmates! It's quite costly to celebrate birthday 16 times in a year and to buy 16 birthday cakes.
So......

None of the celebrations were without eggs and flour!

Not forgetting LIMA '07
They arrived here a few days earlier to practice. Best spot to take such pictures is of course at the highest point!

I compiled some of the pictures (during their practice session) into a short clip.

And some sequence photos during LIMA.

There are around 5GB of LIMA photos. Just contact me if you want them.

And after DCAT phase, we went into flying wing to start our 42hours of PPL flying phase.

The first 42 hours of flying was quite tough. You know, I was new to flying. Multi-tasking was of a different level.
It's not as easy as sms-ing while driving.
But I am glad I pulled through.
I can never forget the first day I started flying solo! :)

Done with the 42 flying hours at early April 2008, we reported back to ground school for CAA6 and CAA2 courses.
Again,
DotA is still the best way to relax after classes! =P

Done with ground school, and back to flying wing again to complete the 145hours of Single engine.
Few weeks of flying in lgk, then we were sent to kt to fly for more than 2 months during monsoon season.

The morning looked bright and sunny to fly. Pre-flight check first!

Just 20minutes later..
....We had to go on standby...damnit..

After around an hour or two of heavy rain, skies was clear again...but not for long.

If you look carefully, there is another line of Big Mommas approaching in fast.

Checking weather as usual....looked like can fly..
No..better standby first..

Our dining place.

Our cabins. The left is for technicians, right is Flight Operations.
Two cabins behind are for cadets.
And the last one at the center is the washroom.

Near to end of January 2009, we came back to hell to do our PT4 and PT3.
Completed the 145hours of Single Engine and proceeded to Twin Engine Simulator and Flying phase..

....and finally on 13th April 2009, I clocked 201 of flying hours....

It's about time to leave.
Not gonna update for quite sometime..

The End.
