I was thinking not to update anything during this 2-month break since there is nothing much to blog about.


For a week plus, I have been....

- watching taiwanese&japanese dramas
- playing basketball, badminton and tried rock climbing.
- playing DotA, CS, Bejeweled 2, and Zuma.
- reading Dan Brown's books.
- sleeping for 9 hours a day average.
- playing guitar.


But still I am bored and need to find something else to do.

I went with Chelwarnce together with his college friends for a study tour at Permai Hospital this morning.

You know how much I like to do charity~~ to contribute for the society and to the people in need~~ wahahahahahahaha!!!




Ok, I see none of you believe me :P


42 Psych students (including me, The BIG Poser) arrived at the main hall around 9.15am. Then we were ushered into a small hall for some talks regarding the Child Psychiatry (not sure the correct terminology to use!), and facilities/treatments provided at the clinic.

As expected, the slide shows were alien to me. Haha. I thought I was in another planet!

But it made me understand certain things like, for cases such as autism and ADHD involving children (those below 18-year-old as I was told), parents play a pivotal to help their kids to grow normally, or at least help them to be able to cope better with the society.


Some parents fail to identify the symptoms and tend to brush it off as a 'normal' case, which obviously lead to worsening of the illness.


Poor parenting skills is not helping much either. Troubled marriage, divorces, abuses, etc...Do I need to say more??



Psych aside, back to the tour. We later went to the adult dorm, recreation areas and the child department to get a clearer picture. I'd say the condition of the buildings there were kinda...ermm...traditional? Apparently they are not receiving much funding from the government nor the NGOs.

Thousands of graduates are flooding a market affected by the global economic crisis. Perhaps it’s time people take the plunge to stay afloat.

Graduates are being produced by the hundreds of thousands every year and the sad news is that only slightly over half could find a job within months.

So if you think finding a job is going to be a walk in the park because you have a degree, maybe you need a friendly slap of reality. A degree is no longer the passport to gainful employment.

In 2008, our local universities churned out 175,806 graduates and this year, the number may increase.

In a study made by Higher Education Ministry on a sample of these graduates last year, only 55.1% landed themselves with a job within half a year.
