Skill Based Behaviour
-relies on skills memory
-stored as routines/motor programmes
-carried without conscious thought
-must be monitored by Central Decision Maker
-allows to do routine tasks at the same time
-skill maybe difficult to explain
-once learned, skill may be difficult to modify
Types of Error:
1) Action Slip
CORRECT DECISION ---> Pilot distracted ---> WRONG SKILL ---> Pilot fails to monitor ---> ERROR
2) Environmental Capture
Decision to do Skill One ---> Skill One & Skill Two are associated ---> But Skill Two is decided instead ---> ERROR
3) Reversion
Task to do ---> Pilot reverts to previously learned skill ---> ERROR
An example of ENVIRONMENTAL CAPTURE which comes from my own experience during flying:
A dual Circuit sortie with my instructor during early February and I had like only a couple of flying hours clocked. As usual, it was a Left-Hand Circuit. Turning into early Downwind, my instructor told me to do a flapless approach for a Touch & Go.
If it is a normal procedure, I will have to put down the flaps at late downwind before turning into Base Leg.
I said yes. But at late downwind, my hand still went for the Flaps Selection Switch to put the flaps down. How smart.
Two more types of Behaviours are Rule Based Behaviour and Knowledge Based Behaviour, which for obvious reason I can't remember all these things in like two days. Goddamn, it's tough!

I have passed all the subjects!! =)
But then again, out of 17 people in our batch, only 7 including me who managed to pass all the subjects. The others will have to resit for their failed paper after 3 months.
Went to watch Dark Knight on Friday night too. Awesome movie and The Joker steals the show!!

By the way, CA2 this stage is not that heavy and stressful as compared to CA6. The subjects are as follows:
- Performance A
- Human Performance and Limitations
- Air Law
- Mass & Balance
Classes are only half day until 12.30pm. However, the school introduced another two subjects for our batch: Glass Cockpit and Jeppesen, just for these first two weeks. It's just a repetition of what we learn in CA6, but what to do, this is the style of the school management. Do things without think first.
One thing I find very interesting in Human Performance and Limitations is that it covers mostly about biology. You know, like respiration, eyes, dental, health, physiology, etc. There is also a chapter of Basic Aviation Psychology. All are nothing but facts that we need to swallow in two months time.
Gotta go for classes now~~ ;)
I am back in Langkawi to continue for the next phase, CA2. What was supposed to be the integrated programme now remains as a question. No flying or simulation like what the school informed us weeks back.
Holiday was of course fun. I had only like a week holiday, after minus the bus delays. A few friends that I did not get to meet up, Jie Sheng, Ji Wey, Joanne, Ming Huah, Ee Wuen and I am very sorry about that!

After like so seven months did not go back to JB, many people sure have changed. Some changed for the better and some for the worse. Of course, I am in no position to comment on anyone particularly. But I'd say that people won't stay the same forever. =)
Anyway, I have accomplished all the missions that I had been thinking to do. In fact, I got more than what I want. Like, my parents paid for my transport expenses and this saves me quite a lot of money for this month.
Aviator sunglasses, I bought it in JB, and not in Singapore. To cut long story short, I got a Ray-Ban alike design, with dark green colour lenses. I had oh-my-dear-beautiful-godsis (OMDBGS)who helped me took a picture of me wearing the specs. Maybe I will post the picture here someday. Yeah, I know, it's not the month of Ghost yet.
Not forgetting also my newly-found godfather whom I can like talk about anything under the sun, from politics to fuel hike to education to flying to golf, etc. =)
I do not have a laptop, plus with the crewroom computers not fixed (for one month already), I basically have no entertainment. So I brought my guitar along to Langkawi. Hey, I did not say that I know how to play guitar! I am going to master it before I graduate from here! Sounds confident eh me...
**Another junior batch joined this school today. Batch 22. 16 MAS cadets and 4 privates. Tomorrow night we will have a meeting with them, sort of like orientation (or ragging) as you put it.**
The school has granted us 9days of holidays as promised. I took MH1439 (Malaysian One Four Three Niner) from Langkawi on Saturday 9.55am. The B737 took off on time and landed on KLIA 10.46am. My friend, who was on the same flight with me, fetched me to Shah Alam bus station using his Mercedes.
Now I know why rich people speed in the fast lane. The speedometer was reading 18oKMH but I felt like the car was going only 90KMH!
At Shah Alam bus station:
I bought the 12.30pm bus back to JB. Hey Xuan, it's RM30 now. But....
At 1245hours, bus didn't come. I asked the counter guy and he said "On the way, bang. Kejap lagi."
At 1300hours, he said "Bas rosak la, bang. Tunggu 15minit lagi."
At 1330hours, "Bas kene tahan JPJ la bang. Driver takde permit." I went to other counters to look for the buses heading back to JB, but the next schedule at all counters is 4pm. Damnit. I decided to wait until 2.30pm before I buy the 4pm one.
At 1430hours, "Bang, soli la bang, kita kene refund balik la. Bas to rosak dah."
You know, I had a sudden urge of punching the guy straight into his face. !@#!($
I went to other counters. 4pm ticket sold out. The next one, 6pm. How lucky. I wondered why god punished me that day. I settled for that ticket, hoping for no more delays.
There was this girl, Siti who faced the same fate. She had a dinner to attend at 7pm but not anymore. Since both of us had nothing to do, we went to Alam Central (a shopping complex nearby) to kill time.
At 1810hours, the bus had not yet arrived. "Bang, Klang sana jammed la. Setengah jam lagi." And finally, at 6.35pm, the bus arrived. Guess what time I reached Larkin Bus Station? 1.30am. Super tired.
Sunday 8am, I went for basketball with a bunch of friends. But those guys came at 8.45am. Played for like 30mins only and then went for laksa already. Delicious. Simply delicious. Yek Wei, please help me thank your parents again for the superb laksa! =)
Sunday night went out for dinner with my family at Kinsahi, Plaza Pelangi. My sis was in the driver seat. I actually put on my seatbelt although I was sitting behind. Not because of the new ruling, but it was the the way she drove scared the hell out of us.
Thank god, we still reached our destination safely. Japanese cuisine here is still fantastic. Sushi, salmon, soft shell crab, bento, wasabi. Haha. I ordered a Nigiri set. Yum yum!
So what's my programme for today? Let me see, tonight I will go to Singapore to check out aviator glass with my cousin.
I was watching this show called Top Gear (not the latest episode) together with my friends yesterday. Lamborghini Reventon (reh-ben-ton), the talk of the show. This car came out last year, only 20 such cars being produced and they were all sold out this year. Guess how much the price?

Time 1515 marks the end of my CA6 Examination! Wahahhahahha! And now I am free! Man, the last subject, Met Prac was tough. Result will be out in DCA website in a month time. Anyway, later my batch mates and I will go out celebrate our Independence Day.

Several Indian airlines are cutting their networks and there have been anecdotal reports of staff cuts at some carriers.

In Australia, Virgin Blue's CEO, Brett Godfrey, has vowed not to retrench staff in response to record high fuel prices. Emirates, which is taking delivery of two widebodies per month over the next 58 months, including 58 A380s, is undertaking a recruitment drive unmatched in civil aviation history. This year alone, the Dubai-based carrier aims to recruit 12,000 staff and a worldwide recruitment drive has begun.
Qatar Airways and Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways are also expanding. Etihad plans to increase its workforce from about 4000 to as many as 5000, including 500 new cabin crew, by the end of the year.

Many of my friends have already went back to JB. Some have finished their course, while others are having their semester break. It has been a long time since I had any long holidays. Wait. The school has never given us any since the day I arrived here. The longest holidays was 2days and a half. Damn.
When am I going back to the City of Crimes anyway? Are the security getting any better? How about the traffic jam at Perling Bridge? Getting worse? Or izzit getting better due to fuel hike? How about the new custom at City Square there? Become a white elephant already? And how about the pirated games and dvd at Holiday Plaza? I suppose it still remain as the centre of attraction, right?
A few things that I need to do:
1) Meet up with families, friends, wives, and daughters.
2) Bring my MAS cap back to Langkawi.
3) Go SG to buy aviator specs.
4) Play basketball.
I think I will be able to give you guys an answer regarding the first question above. Not today. End of this week, I hope. Ciaoz
