As expected, petrol kiosks nationwide were flooded with hundreds if not thousands of cars queuing for petrol two days ago. And yesterday, there were already a few protests held at two states.
More and more citizens are demoted to lower class income group due to the sudden hefty rise in fuel price. According to an online news site today, land and river transportation came to a halt at the East Peninsula. Fuel shortages were reported in rural areas.
In India.....
Activists from India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shout slogans as they burn an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a protest against the hike in oil prices in the central Indian city of Bhopal June 4, 2008. Indians were divided on Wednesday over a more than expected rise in oil and cooking gas prices, with the poor saying it will hit their pockets and the rich shrugging it off as inevitable in a globalised economy. Source: asylum60.blogspot.comI agree with the government's decision to raise the fuel price but I definitely disagree with the way they allow such a steep increase in such a short period! I mean, they could have increased the price gradually, like 20cents every four months. To the lower and middle income groups, they are certainly feeling the impact starting from today. First to come, lorry and buses companies gonna increase the charges. Many other companies will follow suit, that's for sure. From current situation, looks like the fuel subsidy will be removed totally at one point of time. So brace yourself for another shockwave, fellas.
Anyway, Met test result came out already. I scored 97%! Haha. But then, today's Nav test is quite tough. Forecast result should be borderline between pass and fail. 30 questions including 20questions of theory and 10 for plotting. The instructor wanted us to show all the calculations and that really cost alot of my time. An hour past and I only finished 16 theory ques. I quickly jumped to plotting section and managed to complete it within 45minutes. A new record. normally I will take an hour to finish plotting. Left 15minutes I went back to theory section. Tried to finish the last four questions but only could complete three.
I did not even have the time to double check all the questions. Just 30 questions. Easy to fail. Next week will have another wave of tests coming in!!
